Dr. Young was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with his Bachelor’s degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Maryland, School of Medicine. He completed a rotating Internship at York Hospital in York Pennsylvania and then served in the Medical Corp of the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Young completed the residency program in Ophthalmology at University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Young has also been board certified in Ophthalmology since 1974 and is also a fellow of American College of Surgeons since 1975.
Dr. Young moved to the Daytona Beach are in 1972. He had a private practice at 163 Broadway, which is now called International Speedway Boulevard for 44 years prior to joining DiGaetano Cataract Services.
He and his wife of 53 years, Barbara, have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Dr. Young enjoys painting, golfing and fishing.
